Vegetarians and Vegans Need to Stand Up

Whenever I surf the internet and come accross vegetarian and vegan related message boards and I get so sick of the whining that I see all too often.  You will constantly run into topics like, "How do I cope with my meat-eating friends and family?" or topics like, "How do I defend my vegetarian beliefs with others?"  Pathetic!  First of all if you stand so strongly in your convictions you should never need to justify yourself to others.  Second off, I strongly feel if you have to cater to others for what you believe in then your own beliefs are not that strong to begin with.  I've been in this situation countless times in my life and I never once whined to others for having to "cope" with others.  How do I do this?  I try to lead the way, I study my facts, I know my perspectives, and I also "learned the language of my enemy" so to speak.  I know what opposing people believe and why they believe it, so when I get attacked for being what I am, I throw my facts right at them and it usually quiets them down considerably. I just don't understand people sometimes and how they feel like they are often victims.  If you believe in your convictions so much, lead with them!  Don't simply try to work around them to get by in society.  Where is the  fun in that?  The path of least resistance just never seemed to be the one I would take. :)
